New generation mobile ticketing and payment app PayiQ Tickets won first place in the category for services utilizing easy Mobile payment provided by Finnish teleoperators. PayiQ Tickets can be used to pay for various recreational services and public transport tickets in most of Finland’s biggest cities.
Transport-related services were triumphant in several categories in the Best Mobile Service 2018 competition that was carried out in cooperation with Digital Forum Finland, Ohjelmisto- ja e-business and various economic life operators. There were over hundred contestants in six categories and the chairman of the jury was the Minister of Transport and Communications Anne Berner. The award event was held in Slush on the fifth of December.
“Providing globally scalable services will be one of the cornerstones of Finland’s success in the future. It’s pleasing to see that we have potential for it, for example in the form of new transport services. Best Mobile Service competition is one good way to highlight these new services and their developers” says Berner.
“Naturally we’re very happy and proud to receive this award. We have aimed at making mobile payment as easy and simple as possible, and it’s great to see that the users agree with us. We have won the award for best mobile payment service also with Turku public transport’s Föli app in Slush in 2015. The usage of mobile payment in our service has grown vastly during the past couple of years. This award encourages us to further develop our service to meet the needs of users and transport services” tells PayiQ’s CEO Tuomo Parjanen.
