PayiQ is proud to announce that it won the tender for Åland’s public transport ticketing system. PayiQ will provide the new system together with hardware partner Octanova.
PayiQ has signed a contract with Ålands landskapsregering (Åland Regional Government) for the delivery of a complete ticketing system for public transport. The system includes hardware, software and associated services. It is a five-year contract with five optional years. PayiQ’s partner for providing the hardware is Finnish Estonian company Octanova.
PayiQ’s ticketing system has been compatible with Octanova’s fare collection devices for years and is in use in several Finnish regions. PayiQ’s ticketing solution is in use all over Finland and with a single login you can buy public transport tickets in over 100 municipalities for example in Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, Lahti, Jyväskylä, Kuopio and Oulu regions. Now Åland’s public transport tickets will be added to this abundant ticket selection.
“We are delighted to have won the tender and to expand our operation to the Åland region. Adding Åland bus tickets to our service portfolio further strengthens the one country – one app approach of PayiQ Tickets app. Thus, travelers can seamlessly use one application both in Åland and mainland Finland, which makes it beyond convenient” tells PayiQ’s CEO Elena Lipchenko.
