PayiQ has launched its second branded application in Russia for topping up transport cards. Now passengers can top up a transport card in the Republic of Chuvashia through operator’s own mobile application “ETK-FPS”. The app utilizes the Faster Payments System (FPS) as the payment method.
The mobile application for replenishing a transport card in Chuvashia was implemented based on the PayiQ TaaS® ticketing platform and branded for ETK LLC. The project was launched together with PayiQ’s Russian partner companies: Get Fare, ATOL Online and Gazprombank.
ETK-FPS mobile application allows the top up of transport cards with different tariff plans, viewing top up history and checking card balance. It is also possible to replenish several transport cards and assign names to them, which is very convenient for a family. To register in the mobile application, it is required to specify the phone number and e-mail address to which receipts for replenishment of transport cards will be sent.
The Faster Payments System was chosen as the payment mechanism for this app. It is a service of the Bank of Russia that allows individuals to make instant transfers to the accounts of trade and service enterprises. The advantage of this payment method for the passengers is the possibility to choose any bank application installed on the user’s smartphone, as long as the selected bank supports FPS. Money is credited to the operator’s account immediately after the passenger authorizes the transaction.
“PayiQ is rapidly developing its service in the regions of Russia, thanks to the active support of the FPS. Earlier in the Chuvash Republic, within the framework of operator’s own application, there was no function to replenish a transport card. We are pleased to offer this service to passengers of public transport together with our partners for this project” says Elena Lipchenko, Regional Director of PayiQ in Russia and the CIS.
“Prior to the launch of this project, the delayed replenishment of the transport card using a smartphone was possible only for Sberbank customers through the Sberbank online system. Today, any passenger of public transport of the Chuvash Republic can replenish the transport card from their smartphone. To do this, one should only download the ETK-FPS application. The launch of the application is aimed at improving the convenience of using non-cash fares for residents of the Chuvash Republic,” tells Yevgeny Gorbunov, director of ETK LLC.
