PayiQ and Wallasvaara Take Hurrikaani-Loimaa to Mobile Era during Playoffs

PayiQ and Wallasvaara continue their successful cooperation by launching a new mobile tool for Hurrikaani-Loimaa. This is the first service package in the world that is designed for a volleyball team. It allows fans to keep track of scores and statistics and to purchase team’s products.

Hurrikaani-Loimaa is the first Finnish volleyball team to take into use a mobile tool based on Audience Engage technology. The app has been developed in cooperation with Wallasvaara Engage and the club. It’s a novel tool for keeping contact in touch with supporters and partners. For the team it’s a continuously updating publishing system with which to offer up-to-date information for supporters. Supporters can keep track of scores and statistics, and buy tickets to games and other products. PayiQ and Wallasvaara have previously collaborated on similar service packages for track and field games (Paavo Live) and for a football club (FC Inter Turku).

The app can be downloaded for free for smart phones from Google Play and App Store.

“Hurrikaani-Loimaa’s strategy is to be an innovative forerunner in combining sports, commercialism and digitalization. The new app takes Hurrikaani’s fan and partner experience to the next level. This app with these features is the first one in the volleyball world! Aided by its partners PayiQ and Wallasvaara, Hurrikaani will move straight to mobile payments without going through a phase with payment cards. This is comparable to winning at Eurojackpot!” says Jaakko Haltia, board member at Hurrikaani-Loimaa and a researcher on combining sports and business.

“We’re very happy to continue working with Wallasvaara. This new mobile app strengthens our role in the sports world. Our Ticketing as a Service platform enables the creation of versatile ticketing services for various service providers. With our award-winning technology it’s easier than ever before to invent wholly new kind of service concepts and to combine different modes of transport and other services, like sports and other public events. We’re looking forward to expanding to other sports” tells CEO Tuomo Parjanen of PayiQ, the company that has provided the payment system of the app.
